These are some of the findings of the APAC travel trends forecast of homestay provider Airbnb, to mark World Tourism Day on Tuesday.Among domestic destinations, Mumbai, New Delhi, Pondicherry, Lonavala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Chennai were cited as the most popular choices for Indian tourists, while Dussehra, Christmas, and New Year were the top seasons to travel, said Airbnb.

“Domestic bookings in the region see travelers taking quicker and more impulsive decisions to travel as compared to international bookings. While travelers spend more time and money on their international travel, domestic travel is reserved for shorter trips spent at properties available within a lower price range. Solo travel is becoming increasingly common among the Asian urban population, as they discover themselves through unique cultures,” Airbnb said, in a statement.Airbnb said that with 380% outbound and 390% inbound growth in the last year, the Asia region has been the fastest growing market for the brand.Amsterdam, Dubai, Rome, Copenhagen, Bali, Singapore were the other popular destinations for Indian tourists.
